Mohanlal’s first look from his next film, Malaikottai Vaaliban, was unveiled on Friday. Helmed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, the film’s title roughly translates to ‘young man of Malaikottai’. However, the makers haven’t revealed anything about the film’s genre or its story yet.
The Malayalam film star is sporting an intense look on the poster. He seems to be in a desert, and is seen pulling at ropes with his bare arms. Dust surrounds him, and a huge moon is positioned just behind his head. It can’t be said if Malaikottai Vaaliban is a period film or a war drama.
Sharing the first-look poster, Mohanlal wrote on Twitter, “And now, the wait has a face! Presenting to you the First Look of #MalaikottaiVaaliban! Keep cheering us on our journey to bring this movie to life. #MalaikottaiVaalibanFL.” As soon as the actor dropped the first-look poster, his fans were ecstatic. Many reacted to it and dropped fire emojis in the comments section.
Danish Sait re-shared the posters and wrote on Twitter, “Honoured and thrilled to be a part of @mrinvicible‘s world ❤️ I would’ve never imagined being in a film with Mr. @mohanlal 🤗 #MalaikkottaiVaaliban @meSonalee.”
Actor-filmmaker Prithviraj had earlier added to the excitement around the film, as he said in one of his interviews, “It’s a Lijo jose Pellissery film. I know the film’s subject. I’m extremely excited to watch that film. To be frank, even though I’m a Lalettan fan, as far as that film is concerned, the fact that most excites me is that it’s a film by Lijo. That said, I think he will bring out a fresh perspective on Lalettan. It’s a very challenging film. I don’t know if you guys know this but it’s a very big film. They are going to shoot the entire movie in Rajasthan.”
The shoot of Malaikottai Vaaliban began in January this year in Rajasthan and it is yet to be completed. The film is produced by Shibu Baby John under the banner of John Mary Creative, Kochumon under the banner of Century Films and Anoop of Max Lab.
The producers have also refrained from revealing the cast of the movie, but have confirmed that it stars actors from various film industries. Written by PS Rafique, Malaikottai Vaaliban will have music by Prashant Pillai. The released date of the film is yet to be decided.
