Drishyam 3 total collection: Arguably one of the most anticipated Indian movies at the moment, director Jeethu Joseph’s Mohanlal-starrer Drishyam 3, the third instalment in the eponymous franchise, has been the talk of the town ever since its initial announcement. With each new update, the hype seems to be only increasing, hinting that it will be a monumental affair when the movie finally hits the screens. Now, producer M Renjith of Rejaputhra Visual Media, which bankrolled Mohanlal’s blockbuster Thudarum (2025), has made a stunning revelation about Drishyam 3 that has turned the hype dial all the way up.

Revealing that the third instalment in the Drishyam franchise has already entered the Rs 350 crore club while filming is still underway, Renjith stated that this highlighted the heights Malayalam cinema has finally reached. While taking part in a session at the second edition of Manorama Hortus, he claimed that this is the first time a regional-language Indian film has registered such massive business while still in production. It was with Panorama Studios — which is bankrolling the Hindi version of the franchise — acquiring the Malayalam movie’s theatrical, overseas, and digital rights, that Drishyam 3 managed to cross the Rs 350 crore mark.

If Renjith’s words are indeed true, Drishyam 3 has managed to earn more in pre-release business than the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, did at the box office (Rs 303.67 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk). The producer also revealed that Thudarum, which reportedly grossed Rs 234.5 crore worldwide, earned him a Rs 55 crore share after its theatrical run.

A few days ago, a statement from Panorama Studios surfaced online, claiming that it had acquired from Aashirvad Cinemas — the production company behind the OG Drishyam films — the worldwide theatrical and digital rights for the third instalment of the Malayalam franchise. A part of the statement read, “Panorama Studio International Limited has acquired from Aashirvad Cinemas the exclusive worldwide theatrical rights for India and overseas, along with the digital and airborne rights, for the original Malayalam film Drishyam 3, the third chapter in the blockbuster Drishyam franchise starring Mohanlal, Meena, and Ansiba, and directed by Jeethu Joseph.”

Although this raised doubts among many fans about whether both the Malayalam and Hindi versions would be released simultaneously — hinting at a possibility of the former being overshadowed by the latter — director Jeethu himself addressed the rumours later. Replying to a fan on Instagram, he reportedly revealed that the Hindi version would hit the screens only two months after the release of the Malayalam Drishyam 3.
