The movie is a sequel to the 2018 hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, makes an appearance in the film.
A statement by the makers read, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse records the highest opening day in India for an animation film, earning Rs. 5.04 crore (4.20cr. Nett) on its release day!”
According to Deadline, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is poised to make a worldwide opening of over $150 million.
The Indian Express’ Shalini Langer gave the film three stars and called it a ‘rollercoaster ride.’ A part of the review read, “Like its main protagonist who can’t hold still, dipping and soaring, swinging and swaying, Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse is a restless, firing-on-all-pistons rollercoaster ride. It doesn’t always land on its feet, but it is wondrous to be there when it does.”
