FOR THE next edition of Golden Globe Awards, Alaka Sahani, The Indian Express journalist and film critic, has been selected as a ‘voter’. The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 11, 2026.
The Golden Globes, often referred to as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year”, is considered to be the largest awards show to celebrate the best of films, television and podcasting. The nominations will be announced on December 8.
The Golden Globe voters are selected by the Membership Board of Directors, which comprises non-Golden Globe journalism professionals. Golden Globe voters are obligated to vote in both motion picture and television categories for nominations and final ballots.
Sahani, an Associate Editor, has been with The Indian Express since 2007. She is a recipient of the National Film Awards for Best Film Critic for 2013. Other Indian and Indian-origin journalists selected as Golden Globe voters include Anupama Chopra, film critic and editor at The Hollywood Reporter India; Toronto-based Ankit Jhunjhunwala; US-based freelance film critic Meher Tatna; Radhika Seth, film and culture editor of British Vogue and US-based Sabrina Joshi who writes for publications in India.
