Trouble is mounting for YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps after his controversial remarks in an episode of stand-up comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. His comments sparked nationwide outrage, with several complaints being filed by notable personalities. Now, Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali have reacted to his comments, calling him ‘immature’ and how youngsters should have a better understanding of their ‘environment’.

During an interview with Instant Bollywood, Imtiaz and Manoj were asked about the ongoing controversy around Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks. The Jab We Met director called the Youtuber ‘immature’ and states that popularity that comes through shortcuts also goes away in the short term. He said, “Mujhe lagta hai jisko jis cheez mein maza aata hai usko vahi karna chahiye aur ashleelta aisa subject hai ke obviously bura hai ye to koi bhi kahega but log immature hote hain to zyada seriously unki galtiyon ko lena bhi nai chahiye (I feel people should do what they enjoy doing, but obscenity is a subject that looks bad and anyone would agree, but people are immature, so their mistakes should not be taken seriously).”

Actor Manoj Bajpayee was also with Imtiaz and he agreed with his point of view about short-term success. He further added, “Isliye jo bhi log safal ho rahe hain, young hain, yuva hain humesha jo hai mahaul ko zara dekhein samjhe (people who are successful and young should appreciate and understand their environment),” also requesting people to read the newspaper more often. Additionally, the director also cited the Satya actor an example to observe the effects of success that comes after years of hard work.

Ranveer Allahbadia had asked an India’s Got Latent contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” His remarks got significant backlash and official complaints, after which he apologised in a video on social media. Meanwhile, the episode has been taken down from YouTube after directions from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
