Bhairathi Ranagal trailer: A fiery Shiva Rajkumar takes centrestage as Narthan traces the OG’s origins

Bhairathi Ranagal, the prequel to Narthan's Mufti, features Shiva Rajkumar in the titular role, and is set to hit the screens on November 15

ShivarajkumarShivarajkumar has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to his mother tongue.

Seven years ago, we first came across Bhairathi Ranagal, the ruthless gangster with a heart of gold, in Mufti. Now, director Narthan is bringing the iconic character back in a prequel. Titled Bhairathi Ranagal, it’s one of the most-anticipated Kannada films of 2024. With Shiva Rajkumar returning to play the titular role, the film is set to hit the screens on November 15.

Ahead of the film’s release, fans were treated to a trailer which places the narrative in the town of Ronapura. The trailer shows how Bhairathi Ranagal, a conscientious lawyer, is forced to take justice in his own hands, and save the town from the clutches of evil.

The film stars Rahul Bose as the primary antagonist, and Shabeer in a pivotal role. Apart from Shivanna, the other actors who are reprising their roles from Mufti are Chaya Singh, and Devaraj. Bhairathi Ranagal reunites director Narthan with his frequent collaborator Ravi Basrur, who has become a nationwide phenomenon thanks to his work in the KGF films, Salaar, and recently, Singham Again.

Shiva Rajkumar, who made a fantastic start to 2024 with his cameo performance in Dhanush’s Captain Miller, followed it up with the action drama Karataka Damanaka. While his performance was lauded, both films received mixed responses from critics and audiences. Shiva Rajkumar would be hoping to cap the year with Bhairathi Ranagal, which seems to have everything going for it.

Apart from Bhairathi Ranagal, Shiva Rajkumar will also be seen in Uttarakaanda, 45, and the upcoming Ram Charan film. Considering Jailer 2 is in the works, it would be interesting to see if the Kannada superstar would feature in the Nelson-directed sequel, headlined by Rajinikanth.
