The marriage and divorce of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma is a story that seems to give birth to new chapters every day. The high-profile couple settled their divorce back in March, but their comments against each other still make headlines. Now Chahal’s sister expressed her love and respect for him and praised him for staying silent when the world around him became “mean”. While there was no direct mention of Dhanashree, her constant comments about Chahal on the show Rise and Fall might be what Chahal’s sister is talking about.
Taking to her social media, Kenaa Dwivedi admitted that some relationships don’t need to be forged in blood and that they exist upon a foundation built of trust. She thanked Chahal for guiding her through the different phases of her life and keeping her away from negativity. “You’ve kept that promise every single day, shielding the inner child in me from negativity, guiding me toward light, and teaching me how to walk through life with grace and strength.”
“You’re also the man who truly respects women, the one who addresses every woman as “ma’am”, who protects the dignity of every soul around him, and who chooses silence when the world turns mean. Even when I get upset and ask, ‘Why don’t you say something?’ you always remind me that sometimes, time heals everything and silence speaks the loudest,” said Kenaa.
She added, “People who know your heart, your character, and your soul feel that protective energy, that warmth and strength that makes everyone around you feel safe.” The caption went on about how she feels grateful to have him in her life and how she wishes him all the happiness in the world.
Chahal also ruffled some feathers on social media as he re-shared a post about Delhi HC’s decision about alimony. The post said, “Financially independent wife cannot demand for alimony. Alimony is given for social justice and not enrichment.” Chahal shared the post on his stories and wrote, “Maa kasam khao nahi paltoge iss decision seh (Promise me you won’t go back on this decision.)” The now deleted post sparked further debate about Chahal’s alimony payment to Verma. The cricketer was ordered to pay Rs 4.75 crore to Verma after their divorce settlement.
Dhanashree’s comments about her marriage with Chahal started making the rounds of news outlets again when she decided to talk about the relationship during her run on the show Rise and Fall. She talked about how Chahal apparently never wanted a relationship and wanted to marry her without dating. The choreographer also claimed that she caught Chahal cheating on her just two months into their marriage.
