What KL Rahul told Suniel Shetty who was upset about cricketer getting trolled: ‘Dad, my bat will talk’

Suniel Shetty said he is 100 times more hurt when his son-in-law, cricketer KL Rahul, is trolled.

Actor Suniel Shetty’s cricketer son-in-law KL Rahul was at the receiving end of trolling when India lost in the recently held Cricket World Cup. He was criticised for his fielding on the final match day. Suniel shared that he feels bad when internet bullies target his daughter Athiya or Rahul.

Speaking to ANI, Suniel said that it was Rahul who advised the actor to not react to the negativity that was thrown at the family. Suniel revealed that Rahul told him, “Dad, my bat will talk”.

Talking about how he feels when the internet trolls target his children, Suniel said, “The faith of the people in him, the selectors, the faith of the captain, it said it all. It hurts me 100 times more than it would hurt Rahul or Athiya.”

In an earlier interview with indianexpress.com, Suniel shared how he is in awe of Rahul.

“Good deeds never go unnoticed, even if you try everything to run a person down. He has that fire, commitment, discipline and consistency. He also has that urge to do something. And above all, he has a large heart which is always ready to give. I always tell my children it’s the art of giving that teaches you the art of living. As for Rahul, I have been a fan since he was a cricketer, and today, when he’s a son, not even my son-in-law, I still am a fan.”

Athiya and KL Rahul got married earlier this year in January after dating for a few years. Both the celebrities kept their relationship low profile before making it official with the wedding announcement. The couple tied the knot in Suniel’s bungalow in Khandala in the presence of family and close friends.
