Dark, edgy, melodramatic and just so Dibakar Banerjee. The official trailer of the director’s new movie ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput is out and the aforementioned adjectives truly explain it.
Set in the 1943 Calcutta, far more innocent than today, ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ portrays the city as it was in the middle of the second World War and in the throes of political turmoil.
Sushant Singh Rajput reprises the famous character of the novel by the same name and does it exceedingly well. He captures the nuances of the character quite perfectly and brings life to it. Being launched on his birthday, this movie could well be a milestone in his Bollywood career.
The other characters too make it an intriguing watch. The movie is slated to release on April 3.
