Ayan Mukerji’s spy thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, seems to have hit a plateau. After scoring in double digits every day of the extended opening weekend, it saw a massive 75% drop on Monday, slipping down to single digits. That continues on Tuesday (day 6) as the film witnessed another minor dip in numbers. Since there are no major releases this week, War 2 has another week to perform and regain momentum sans any new competition.

War 2 box office collection domestic

On Tuesday, War 2 earned Rs 8.25 crore, which is even lower than what was its lowest single-day collection so far, on Monday (day 5) at Rs 8.75 crore. The massive fall on Monday followed decent weekend collections of Rs 33.25 crore and Rs 32.65 crore on Saturday (day 3) and Sunday (day 4) respectively.

Its highest single-day collection, however, was on Friday (day 2) on the occasion of Independence Day at Rs 57.85 crore, higher than even Rs 52 crore, its figure on the opening day (Thursday). As per Sacnilk, the current domestic box office earnings of War 2 stands at Rs 192.75 crore across all three languages — led by a far margin by the original Hindi version, followed by the dubbed Telugu and Tamil versions respectively.

War 2 yet to enter Rs 200 cr club

In the process, War 2 has eclipsed other star vehicles of this year like Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 166.58 crore), Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (Rs 179.30 crore), Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force (Rs 134.93 crore), and Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 129.95 crore). But it’s yet to beat the box office run of Kumar’s Housefull 5 (Rs 198.41 crore) and yet to enter the coveted Rs 200 crore club in India.

As per a press release by the production house, Yash Raj Films, War 2 showcased an impressive box office run, earning Rs 54 crore across all languages on Thursday. It saw a surge on Friday, collecting Rs 61 crore, and continued to draw audiences over the weekend with Rs 36 crore on Saturday and Rs 34 crore on Sunday. By the fifth day, the film grossed an additional Rs 9.50 crore. International markets responded favourably, contributing Rs 60.50 crore, thus catapulting its total gross box office collection to Rs 300.50 crore.
