The Kashmir Files director wrote about the vices that come with being in the film industry. “Also, Bollywood frees you from any kind of moral or ethical pressures. You can get away with murder, terrorism, rape or drunk driving. Once money comes, it pours. You have always been a middle class. You don’t know what to do with this money. You invest big. Because people you trust, advise you to do so. What nobody tells is that in this bad world, never ever trust anyone,” he wrote.

Vivek further wrote the downfall of celebrities and how it affects them. He shared how new generations replace the old but nothing replaces their love for fame and money. The filmmaker ended his post by writing, “But you don’t like yourself without makeup. Without fans. All you are left with is a fan above you, on the ceiling. Sadly, this fan becomes your only fan which helps you bring an end to your lonely and miserable life. Some hang there, dying every moment. Some just hang themselves. This is the usual end.”

According to a report in PTI, Nitin had defaulted on a loan of Rs 252 cr. His company ND’s Art World Pvt Ltd had borrowed Rs 185 crore through two loans from ECL Finance in 2016 and 2018, and troubles with repayments started from January 2020.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar spoke about the memories he shared with Nitin. He also revealed that the he met the late art director just three months back. “I last worked with him on Indu Sarkar in 2017, and then pandemic also got in between. But we stayed in touch. We used to talk to each other often over a call or messages. In fact, I met him just three months back with Ashutosh Gowariker. We all met him when his daughter got married. It was a lavish wedding at the studio itself with over 1000 guests in attendance. I can’t fathom the fact that he is no more. He was an extrovert and friendly person, who made his mark in different industries from Hindi to Marathi,” Madhur said.

Several celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Hema Malini, Riteish Deshmukh amongst others mourned the loss of Nitin through social media.
