Virender Sehwag is not just a batsmen who likes to hit it outside the ground, his limericks have also happily striking boundaries ever since he started his new stint as Twitter wit-in-charge. After his Twitter chatter had us all agog, the cricketer is now a movie reviewer too.
Sehwag watched a special screening of Mirzya, starring Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher, recently. The screening was organised by film’s director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The cricketer then took to his blog to write a special review of the film.
He described Mirzya as “magic to the eyes”, he also said nobody could portray love stories as “beautifully and impactfully” as Mehra. He also prised the film’s two debutantes — Harshvardhan and Saiyami.
This is what Sehwag wrote: “I was invited for the premiere of Mirzya yesterday by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and it was magic to the eyes. Probably nobody can portray a love story as beautifully and impactfully as Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra does. Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher are wonderful and it’s difficult to believe that these are two actors making their debut. There is no usage of any gadgets in the movie, no mobile phone, no laptops , just pure love is showcased and quite remarkably. It shows that in love, the end result is not always important , the process and the involvement of being in love is far more important. I haven’t seen Romeo and Juliet nor Heer Ranjha but can proudly say that I have seen Mirzya. Truly, bowling me Nehra ji ka aur Love stories mein Mehra ji ka koi Jawaab nahi.A definite watch.”

In reply to this, Harshvardhan tweeted:
Now, that is high praise indeed!
