Talking about it, he told Jatin Sapru, “Things turning around in a way they did ever since I came back was because I decided to step away and connect with myself. Doing things from very superficial point of view, which is, ‘Who am I to people, what are they expecting of me, what am I expected to go and do.’ It was never about how I am feeling, what I want to do. This moment, what is it really that I want to do? When you go into this phase that I went into, the focus is very difficult to stay in the middle lane which has gotten you to the place you are. That is exactly what happened with me.”
He added, “Because my focus shifted, I started looking at the situation differently. I was in the wrong lane. When I came back to my lane that I am closest to, everything started flowing again. Hopefully, I will keep being in this space that I will drift but I will come back quickly because you have had a knock on your head and a big one. It’s a blessing that I was able to get so much of grace and learning through that phase.”

Talking about the milestone that marked his T20 century, the cricketer said, “To be very honest, the ball before I got to the 100 is the time I felt like, ‘Oh, I am on 94, I could probably get this and the next ball went for six. But, the thing is that as soon as I got the 100, I laughed so hard. I thought to myself, ‘I had been crying for this moment for two years?’ Just for this two seconds of happiness, I let myself go through that. The moment happened, it ended, next day, the sun was up again. It wasn’t going to be forever. It’s not like, I finished 100, and I will pause the moment, and I will spend the rest of my life with this moment alone. It was so funny. I laughed so hard about it.”
When asked if he had tears in his eyes, Virat quickly said, “Not at that moment, but when I spoke to Anushka.”
In the same conversation, Virat also revealed that one sport learning he would like to pass it on to his first-born Vamika.
