Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has been on a record-breaking spree ever since its release. The film stars Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire and the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In its fifth week, the film showed no signs of slowing down and continued to dominate the box office. The film has earned Rs 570.65 crore in India while its worldwide collection now stands at Rs 767.25 crore.

Before Chhaava enters its sixth week, let’s take a look at all the records it has shattered in the past month…

1. Chhaava is first Hindi film to register 12 million ticket sales on BookMyShow

On Tuesday, Chhaava became the first Hindi film to sell 12 million tickets on BookMyShow. The ticketing platform confirmed this milestone, with COO of Cinemas, Ashish Saksena, stating that the film’s ticket sales have even surpassed the 2024 blockbuster Stree 2.

“In a historic achievement that has redefined the Indian cinema landscape, ‘Chhaava’ has blazed past all previous records to become the first Hindi film ever to cross the monumental 12 million ticket sale milestone on BookMyShow. This extraordinary accomplishment sees ‘Chhaava’ surpassing even the blockbuster ‘Stree 2’, creating a new benchmark in the industry,” Saksena said.

2. Chhaava is highest-grossing film of 2025 (all languages)
Chhaava has emerged as the highest-grossing film of 2025 across all languages, earning Rs 767.25 crore worldwide to date. It has surpassed films like Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Game Changer, Sky Force, Daaku Maharaj, and Dragon.

3. Chhaava is Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing film
The film has become the biggest box office success of Vicky Kaushal’s career. Previously, Uri: The Surgical Strike held the record with Rs 244.14 crore, but Chhaava has now surpassed it, with a domestic collection of Rs 555.75 crore.

4. Chhaava broke Pushpa 2, Stree 2’s records with fifth weekend earnings
Even in its fifth weekend, Chhaava outperformed films like Stree 2 and Pushpa 2. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted this achievement, writing: “Chhaava sets a new benchmark in Weekend 5, with the holiday on Friday [Holi] giving a significant boost to its business… The film performed excellently on Saturday and Sunday as well. Weekend 5 toppers… 🔥 #Chhaava: ₹ 22 cr 🔥 #Stree2: ₹ 16 cr 🔥 #Pushpa2 #Hindi: ₹ 14 cr Incidentally, the top two films are produced by #DineshVijan [#MaddockFilms].”

5. Entered the Rs 500 crore club in 22 days
On its 22nd day of release, Chhaava joined the elite Rs 500 crore club, placing it among recent blockbusters like Pushpa 2, Jawan, Stree 2, Gadar 2, Pathaan, Baahubali 2 (Hindi), and Animal.

6. Fastest second-weekend Rs 100 crore grosser
Prior to Chhaava, only Pushpa 2 (Hindi version) had crossed Rs 100 crore in its second weekend. However, Chhaava shattered this record by storming past the Rs 100 crore mark in its second weekend as well.


7. Biggest opener of Vicky Kaushal’s career
Chhaava also marked the biggest opening day for a Vicky Kaushal film. It became the first double-digit opener of his career, debuting with Rs 31 crore, surpassing Uri, which had opened at Rs 8.20 crore.

8. Highest-grossing Indian film on Valentine’s Day
On its opening day, Chhaava also broke a special record—it became the highest-grossing Indian film ever released on Valentine’s Day. Previously, Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy held this record, earning Rs 19.40 crore on its Valentine’s Day release.
