After a blockbuster start, it is time for Tiger 3 to explode. The latest Salman Khan actioner is set to record a massive day two box office number and set new benchmarks. According to the trends, Tiger 3 is likely to net more than Rs 80 crore at the Indian box office in 2 days.
Industry tracker Sacnilk reported that by 7:45 pm on Monday, Tiger 3 had already done a business of nearly Rs 42.78 crore. The two-day total till 8 pm on Monday stands at Rs 87.28 crore.
Tiger 3 on Monday will aim to place itself in the top 5 bracket of highest single day nett collection by a Bollywood film. The top three spots are currently held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan at Rs 81 crore (on Sunday), Rs 75 crore (all-India opening) and Rs 72 crore (on Saturday). The fourth and fifth spots belong to Shah Rukh’s Pathaan, at Rs 70 crore (Republic day holiday) and Rs 60.75 crore (Sunday).
If Tiger 3 continues to trend at this momentum, trade expects the film to put a day two total of anywhere between Rs 80-90 crore. Trade estimates for the latest spy universe film for the three-day total is in the north of Rs 165 crore, which it can very well achieve despite mixed word of mouth.
At the worldwide box office, Tiger 3 recorded a total of Rs 94 crore on day one, which includes paid previews that Yash Raj Films had kept in select overseas territories on Saturday. While the overseas numbers will see a decline from Monday (as they are best during the weekend), the film will more or less make up for it by putting in huge domestic numbers.
The third installment of the hugely successful franchise, Tiger 3 also stars Katrina Kaif and sees Emran Hashmi as an antagonist. The actioner is part of Yash Raj Films’ spy-universe, which also features Hrithik Roshan’s War and superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
