Superstar Salman Khan’s big actioner Tiger 3 has made little noise at the box office. The third part of the hit franchise has been an underperformer at the ticket window, with collections on a free fall since the Diwali holidays got over.
On its third Tuesday, Tiger 3 recorded Rs 2.25 cr all-India nett, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, taking its total to Rs 276 cr. The worldwide collection of the film currently stands at Rs 446 cr.
The collections have sealed the fate of the film, which now won’t even be able to cross the figures of its second instalment, Tiger Zinda Hai, which was around Rs 339 cr all India nett and Rs 558 cr globally.
The Maneesh Sharma directorial was hit by mixed word of mouth, coupled with important World Cup matches which dented its collections on crucial days. The film never could register the euphoria associated with a Salman Khan starrer, after a record-breaking start.
Tiger 3 will now likely to be spy universe’s least successful film. Hrithik Roshan’s 2019 release War had netted Rs 318 cr all India, with a worldwide total of Rs 471 cr. The highest grossing film of the universe is Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which did a mammoth Rs 1000 cr globally.
Tiger 3 also started Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, both playing Pakistani agents while Salman featured in the titular role as the Indian RAW agent. The film’s collection will now take a big hit this Friday, as Ranbir Kapoor headlined Animal releases. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is expected to clock in one of the biggest openings of all time.
