Thamma, Stree 2 music composer Sachin Sanghvi arrested over sexual assault allegation, released on bail

According to news agency PTI, the complainant alleged that it was Sachin who first contacted her last year by sending a direct message on Instagram. He reportedly promised her work in his music album, after which they exchanged phone numbers, a police official said. The woman was later invited to his music studio, where he allegedly proposed to her. The composer is also accused of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions. He was taken into custody after the woman filed a complaint with the police.

Sachin Sanghvi’s lawyer Aditya Mithe issued a statement about his arrest and said, “The allegations in the FIR against my client are absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated. There are absolutely no merits to the case. My client’s detention by the police was illegal and that is the reason why he was released on bail immediately. We intended to defend all allegations fully and unequivocally.”

Sachin-Jigar’s most recent work was Thamma. The composer duo is also known for several chart-topping tracks, including “Aaj Ki Raat” from Stree 2, “Kamariya” from Stree, “Saturday Saturday” from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, “Sun Saathiya” from ABCD 2, and “Saibo” from Shor in the City.
