Swara Bhasker dresses up in a lehenga by a Pak designer for wedding reception, shares a glimpse of rituals: ‘Negotiations for most expensive jootas’

Actor Swara Bhasker recently tied the knot with her partner and young political leader Fahad Ahmad. Fahad is the state president of the youth wing of the Samajwadi Party. The two had gotten their marriage registered in February, and the traditional wedding celebrations began from March 11.

The wedding festivities started in Delhi with Haldi, Mehendi, Sangeet and Qawwali functions, which were attended by the duo’s close friends and family members. The actor recently shared a glimpse of the ‘joota chupai’ ritual where the bride’s team hide the groom’s shoes. In the photo, both the sides of the family could be seen engaged in a fun banter as someone from Fahad’s side was seen holding a wad of cash.

Swara shared a couple of photos with the caption, “Negotiations for the most expensive jootas. Na tumhari na humari.” In another shared Instagram story, Swara was seen dressed in a golden and light grey lehenga as she smiled for the camera and interacted with the person behind the lens. She wrote, “A sneak peek into the stunning @alixeeshantheaterstudio. Lehenga set that @alixeeshanempire kindly made and sent across to me from all the way across the border! Special thanks to @natrani for making this possible!”

Recently, Swara’s vidaai video had also gone viral, where the bride could not stop shedding tears as her father Uday Bhaskar read out a poem which basically wished her a lifetime of happiness at her husband’s home. Swara’s friend had shared the original clip from the wedding as Swara was seen crying silently as she looked lovely in a pink lehenga and some gold ornaments.

Swara’s father also reacted to the post and wrote back, “Thanks for sharing this poignant ‘moment’ @sinjini_m
