Actor Gayatri Joshi, known predominantly for starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2004 film Swades, met with an accident in Italy while she was travelling with her husband Vikas Oberoi. As per reports, the couple’s car rammed into several other vehicles and a camper van.

Gayatri and Vikas’s car collided with other cars when a Lamborgini and a Ferrari were trying to overtake a camper van, simultaneously on a narrow road in Sardinia. This led to one of the cars hitting the camper van, causing it to overturn. After the collision, the Ferrari caught fire, leading to the death of a Swiss couple travelling in it.

Talking about the incident with Free Press Journal, Gayatri shared, “Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here (multiple-car collision).. With gods grace, we both are absolutely fine.”

A couple of videos of the accident have surfaced on social media.

Gayatri Joshi left people impressed with her simplicity in her debut Bollywood film Swades. However, that was the last time cinephiles got to witness the model-turned-actor on the silver screen. After Swades, Gayatri got married to Vikas Oberoi, Chairman and Managing Director of Oberoi Realty Ltd. and got busy with her personal life.

Now, she is either seen in the vacation pictures of her best friends Sonali Bendre and Sussanne Khan or at big Bollywood parties.
