Sunny Deol‘s younger son Rajveer Deol fulfilled his Bollywood dream with his debut film, Dono. In a recent interview with Lallantop, Sunny shared the advice he passed on to his son, echoing the wisdom he received from his own father and legendary actor Dharmendra.

Sunny advised Rajveer, saying, “I gave him the advice that my father gave me, ‘Whatever you do, do it from your heart and do what you love.’ We take films as an art and not look at them commercially. What is a star? If your film works, you are a star. And I am seeing the same behaviour in my kids. They are putting effort into playing their characters well and even when we sit to discuss films, we talk about interesting characters.”

Apart from Rajveer Deol, Dono marked the acting debut of Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma Dhillon and filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya’s son Avnish S Barjatya, who helmed the film. Despite such a strong backing, the movie has proven to be a disaster at the box office. The film is even struggling to earn Rs 1 crore within three days of release.

Dono received a lukewarm response even from critics. Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta in her review wrote, “Neither Rajveer nor Paloma lift off the screen, even if they aren’t terrible. And as for the rest of the cast, you could interchange one dude with another, and one girl with another, and it would be all the same.”
