Stree 2 continued its blockbuster run on Monday, which was a partial holiday on account of Raksha Bandhan. The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer minted Rs 38.4 crore on its fifth day of release, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. In doing so, the horror-comedy overtook Fighter’s lifetime domestic collections to emerge as the year’s biggest Hindi film. It also posted one of the biggest first Monday hauls in history, behind only Tiger 3 (which debuted on a Sunday), Baahubali 2’s Hindi version, and Animal.
Stree 2 has earned Rs 242.4 crores since its release, reported trade analyst Taran Adarsh. “Stree 2 continues its triumphant run, remaining UNSHAKABLE at the #BO… Displays spectacular hold on a partial holiday [Day 5; #RakshaBandhan], following a glorious 4-day *extended* weekend. #Stree2 has already crossed the *lifetime biz* of #Fighter and is on track to surpass the *lifetime biz* of #Kalki2898AD [#Hindi version] in *Week 1* itself, thus emerging the HIGHEST GROSSING *HINDI* FILM OF 2024. It’s a bit early to estimate the *lifetime biz* of #Stree2, given its exceptional trending… With no signs of slowing down, ₹ 400 cr is well within reach and even ₹ 500 cr cannot be ruled out. [Week 1] Wed previews 9.40 cr, Thu 55.40 cr, Fri 35.30 cr, Sat 45.70 cr, Sun 58.20 cr, Mon 38.40 cr. Total: ₹ 242.40 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice,” he wrote on social media. Globally, the movie has already passed the Rs 300 crore mark.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter was this year’s mega release, which opened on the Republican Day weekend. The mega-budget film, co-starring Deepika Padukone, had an underwhelming box office run, ending its lifetime at Rs 212 cr.

Stree 2 has crossed the entire run of Fighter in merely five days—a historic feat considering that it’s a mid-sized film, banking majorly on the franchise value Stree 2 will now target Prabhas-led Kalki 2898 AD, which had netted Rs 293 cr in the Hindi-speaking regions.
Stree 2 packed a strong five-day weekend, making the most of the holiday period. This is something that most big releases this year, including the Eid releases Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan, failed to capitalise on. The Tuesday figures will finally give a clearer idea about Stree 2’s lifetime run, as it will be the film’s first working day post the extended holiday weekend.
Stree 2 will easily cross Kalki 2898 AD by the second weekend, and as per trade estimates, and should then begin its journey towards the Rs 400 cr club. The film’s Tuesday hold will also signal if Stree 2 can do the unthinkable— join the Rs 500 cr club, currently dominated by mighty, star-driven actioners.
The top-five biggest Hindi movies of all time are Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 584cr), Gadar 2 (Rs 525cr), Pathaan (Rs 524 cr), Baahubali 2 (Rs 511 cr) and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which ended its Hindi run at Rs 505 cr. Stree 2 will now chase the lifetime totals of films such as KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 435 cr), Dangal (Rs 374 cr), Sanju (Rs 342 cr), PK (Rs 340 cr) and Tiger Zinda Hai, which stands at number 10 on the all-time list with Rs 339 cr lifetime collections.
