Stree 2 box office collection day 30: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s horror comedy Stree 2 has completed one month in the cinemas and has emerged as the biggest hit of 2024. On Friday, its fifth Friday since it was released in cinemas, Stree 2 earned Rs 3.35 crore, according to industry tracking website Sacnilk. Stree 2, in its 30-day-run in cinemas, has earned Rs 542.70 crore nett in India.
The makers of Stree 2 introduced a buy one, get one offer for Stree 2 on Friday which also helped bump up ticket sales. The Amar Kaushik directorial had an overall occupancy of 16.20 percent on Friday. While the number of shows have drastically reduced in various cities in India, the film has managed to keep pace. In Mumbai, the occupancy was at 18 percent for 514 shows, and in Delhi-NCR, the occupancy was at 14.25 percent for 686 shows. According to Bollywood Hungama, the film’s gross collection in India stands at Rs 666.09 crore, and worldwide box office collection stands at Rs 787.8 crore.
Stree 2 doesn’t have much competition in theatres at the moment. Kareena Kapoor’s latest film The Buckingham Murders had a limited release in cinemas and has not affected Stree 2’s collections. Kareena’s film earned Rs 1.15 crore on its opening day.
Stree 2 is on the verge of taking over Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in terms of nett domestic collection. Pathaan earned Rs 543.09 crore in India upon its release in 2023. The film made over Rs 1000 crore globally. On its 20th day in the cinemas, Pathaan made Rs 1.02 crore. Jawan, which was another big hit of 2023, also made Rs 1.1 crore on its 30th day. So far, Stree 2 is performing better than both these films. With the BOGO offer in place and no competition in sight, Stree 2 is in for another smooth weekend at the box office.
Stree 2 also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Bannerjee.
