Perfectionist father, an easy-going son. Superstar Aamir Khan’s son Junaid will make his acting debut with the period epic titled Maharaj, shooting of which has been wrapped up, informed actor Shalini Pandey.
Maharaj’s story is reportedly based on the infamous 1862 Maharaja Libel Case. The film is due out on Netflix. In an interview News18 Showsha, Shalini spoke about working with Junaid and said the duo had “very similar” energy on set.
“Junaid is a very easy breezy human being. He’s a good co-actor to work with. I had a lot of fun working with him. We’re in the same age group, so we had a blast during the shoot. Maharaj is one of his first few projects and so is mine. That’s why we had a very similar energy on set,” she added.
Shalani is known for starring in films like Arjun Reddy, Mahanati and her Bollywood debut Jayeshbhai Jordaar, co-starring Ranveer Singh. Apart from Junaid Khan, Maharaj also stars Sharvari Wagh and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles.
The film is reportedly based on the infamous 1862 Maharaja Libel Case in which the head of a religious group had filed a case against a newspaper for reporting that he had sexual relations with his female followers. Junaid apparently plays a reporter in the movie, who happens to be on the other side of the court case.
Recently, Aamir spoke about his son at an event and announced that Junaid’s debut as a film producer with Pritam Pyaare, which will feature the superstar in a cameo.
