Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have worked together in films such as Kaminey and Teri Meri Kahaani. The two were even rumoured to have dated for several years in the past. However, they never confirmed or denied their relationship publicly. While promoting his upcoming film Deva recently, Shahid praised Priyanka in an interview. He called her a very good dancer and also gave shout-outs to some of his other co-stars, such as Deepika Padukone, Pooja Hegde, Kiara Advani and Amrita Rao.
During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the actor was asked, “If you were to have a dance-off with a co-actress, who would give you a tough competition?” He replied, “There are so many girls who are fantastic dancers. A lot of them I worked with already. Priyanka was a very good dancer, Deepika was a very good dancer. I enjoyed dancing with Pooja in this film (Deva). Kiara is a good dancer, but we have not danced together. Even Amrita was a good dancer when I worked with her. They are all good. I have never done a song with Katrina but she is a fantastic dancer,” he said.

Shahid has worked with Priyanka Chopra in Kaminey (2009) and Teri Meri Kahaani (2012), with Deepika Padukone in Padmaavat (2018), with Kiara Advani in Kabir Singh (2023), and with Amrita Rao in Vivaah (2006).
During the same interview, he also recalled how his co-stars would ask him to tone down his dance moves in the initial years of his career. “Kabhi kabhi mujhe meri co-actresses bolti thi ‘itna kyu dance kar raha hai. thoda kam kar yaar’. You’re looking so desperate. Just relax’. I said ‘but I like dancing’. They said, ‘No, no but it’s too much. A little less. Match me.’ In my head I’m like, ‘I am a better dancer.’ But they would say, ‘Just match me please. We need to look like a pair’.”
However, he did not let their opinions impact him and proceeded with the same passion. He said, “Then I said leave it. Main dance kar rah hu, tumhein karna ho karo, nahi karo. I am going for it. (I’m going to dance, if you want to do it, go ahead, if not, that’s fine. I’m going for it).”
Shahid will next be seen in Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The action-packed cop drama also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana, and Kubbra Sait. Deva is set to hit the big screen on January 31.
