The excitement is building for the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film, Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Following the two major blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, SRK seems poised for a hat-trick of success with this upcoming comedy-drama.

Dunki is set to hit theaters worldwide on 21 December, and a week ahead of its release, the film has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The censor board reviewed the film on December 15, and granted it a U/A certificate. The approved runtime for Dunki is set at 2 hours and 41 minutes (161 minutes).

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC’s suggested cuts are limited. The board directed the inclusion of anti-smoking health spots at the film’s beginning and just before the start of the second half. Additionally, a word in the opening scene was modified to ‘immigrants.’

An important scene in the film will have the following statutory warning: “Suicide is not a solution to any problems.” Furthermore, the filmmakers gave documentary evidence for the statistics and other facts mentioned at the end of the film. Before the intermission, certain visuals of Hardy (Shah Rukh Khan) in uniform on a horse during his wedding were also ‘suitably’ adjusted.

The film stars Taapsee Pannu as the female lead. Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochhar, among others, also feature in the film. Gauri Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, and Jyoti Deshpande have produced the film. Dunki will be released in theatres on December 21. The film will clash at the box office with Prabhas-starrer Salaar.
