Aryan Khan’s first directorial project — an ad featuring his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan — is one of the most-awaited TVCs currently. And, while the fans of the actor wait to see how his son has captured him on the camera lens, there are some behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot that the brand has shared to keep everyone excited.
SRK recently shot for the TVC of D’yavol, a ‘luxury streetwear’ brand promoted by Aryan. Aryan also turned director for the ad, starring his father. While the teaser of the ad only had a blink-and-miss appearance of Shah Rukh, a new post on the brand’s social media account has a silhouette of him. The actor is quite easily recognisable in the photo. Dressed casually, he is seen looking at the ground.
As the fans of Shah Rukh noticed the photo, they were all praise for him and also for Aryan’s skills as a director. One of the comments on the photo read, “SRK & the light effect is fabulous 💙.” A fan wrote, “Father in front of son camera 😍… there is no more beautiful scene than this ❤️🙌.” Another added, “It looks already like a masterpiece 🔥.” Looking at the photo, some even insisted that Shah Rukh should now release the poster of his next film, Jawan.
D’yavol’s Instagram account also had a picture of Aryan posing with his team. Like always, he looked intense as he stared into the camera lens. Meanwhile, his sister Suhana Khan and mother Gauri Khan also took to social media to promote his first directorial project.
Besides the ad, Aryan will be directing a web series, for which he is also credited as a screenwriter.
Shah Rukh Khan, a few years back, had talked about his son’s career options on David Letterman’s show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. “He looks nice, he’s tall and…okay. But I don’t think he has what it takes perhaps and he realises that himself. But he is a good writer,” the actor said.
He added, “He came and said ‘I don’t think I want to act’. And his issue was, which I think is very practical and honest. He said, ‘Every time I’ll be compared to you. So if I do well, it will not be because I got skilled at this. It’ll be ‘oh obviously he’s his son, so he will do well’. It’s in the genes. And if I don’t do well, it’ll always be, look at him. What his father did and look at him. What is he doing? So he said ‘I don’t want to be in that kind of position’.”
Shah Rukh is now busy shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki and is awaiting the release of Atlee’s Jawan. Aryan’s sister Suhana Khan will soon be making her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film, The Archies.
