In addition to his impressive talent and magnetic star quality, Shah Rukh Khan is cherished by many for his deep affection towards his family. In fact, he rarely misses an opportunity to enthusiastically talk about his family members and shower immense love on them.
Ahead of the release of his third film this year, Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, the movie’s team unveiled a new song from it on Friday. In contrast to the previously unveiled peppy number titled “Lutt Putt Gaya”, the new song, “Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se”, takes a more sentimental tone, portraying the journey undertaken by Shah Rukh Khan’s character and his friends in the film.
In a recent #AskSRK session on X (formerly Twitter), he opened up about the song and how it reminded him of his family. In response to a Twitterati’s question, “You made us so emotional with this song. What’s your emotional weak point?” SRK noted, “My family, I guess… isn’t that for everyone?”
“Sir, this song made me remember my home. Did you feel the same when you heard it first?” asked another user, to which Bollywood’s Baadshah responded, “Yes, it really makes me think about my parents, my Delhi days, friends made and lost in time. Very emotional.”
When a fan asked him to share a few words about his house, the actor went into full-SRK mode and replied, “Mera ghar wahan hota hain jahan mera dil hota hai. Mere apne hote hain. Home is where the heart is nahi??”
Responding to another user’s query about whether he misses Delhi and a request to talk about his childhood, SRK began with his signature wit but then shifted to a more emotional tone. “Main toh abhi bhi Bachaa hoon (I am still a child). Had a lovely childhood, and I do miss my parents a lot,” he noted.
Dunki tackles the subject of the mass migration of Indian youth to countries such as Canada and England. According to the press notes, the song adds “another layer of emotion” to the film, about the “heart-warming tale of four friends and their quest to reach foreign shores.”
Another Twitter user said that after listening to the song, they feel like moving back to India from Canada and wrote, “I’m living in Canada since 8 years..after listening to #NikleTheKabhiHumGharSe I’m not feeling like staying here anymore.. I’m coming to India…aa raha hoon.. #AskSRK” To this, Shah Rukh responded, “Arre yaar….i also feel India is the best but take all decisions carefully. Sometimes we have to do work outside and make a life for ourselves. #Dunki”
Penned by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani and Dharmendra in key roles. The film will hit the screens on December 21.
