Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan made the day for spectators at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) played against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday. The actor, who co-owns the IPL team KKR, watched the match from the stands along with his daughter Suhana Khan.
Several photos and videos of Shah Rukh from Eden Gardens surfaced on his fan pages on social media. In one of the videos, he is seen entering the cricket stadium with Suhana, his manager Pooja Dadlani and Shanaya Kapoor. Singer Usha Uthap was also seen along with SRK.
A video showed Shah Rukh Khan dancing to Pathaan song “Jhoome Jo Pathaan” while the spectators cheered for him. SRK made sure he addressed his fans who were excited to see him in the stands. He waved at them and blew kisses. The actor was dressed in a black sweatshirt and also wore black sunglasses.
The songs of Shah Rukh played in the stadium as the actor waited for his team to take on RCB. A photo of the actor had him smiling and applauding his team’s performance.
Shah Rukh Khan often watches the matches of KKR. Once, the actor shared how he, along with his kids Aryan and Suhana, cried in the hotel room after KKR lost matches one after another in 2014.
Speaking to Robin Uthappa in an earlier interview, Shah Rukh shared, “When we started in 2014, it was in Abu Dhabi and we were losing all the matches. I remember I used to sit there with my kids. We used to cry like kids alone in the hotel room.”
The Pathaan star also accepted in the same interview that no matter how philosophical you get after losing a match, it always hurts when your team doesn’t win. He said, “Kuch bhi keh lo, dukh toh hota hai. Gyaan jitna bhi de lo ki zindagi mein aisa hota hai vaisa hota hai, lekin jab haarte hain, tab acha lagta nahi hai (No matter what you say, but you feel bad when your team loses. You may say life is like this or that, it doesn’t feel nice to lose a match).”
