After Pathaan became the biggest post-pandemic hit, Shah Rukh Khan is already setting the cash registers ringing with his upcoming action thriller Jawan. Scheduled to release on September 7, the movie has already amassed an impressive Rs 1.2 crore in advance booking in the US, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. The film’s advance booking is also open in Germany, UAE and Australia.

While the Gadar 2 wave currently engulfs the nation, with the film recently entering the Rs 400 crore club, it’s Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Jawan that is capturing the spotlight. The movie’s trailer and the two songs, ‘Zinda Banda’ and ‘Chaleya, have garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience.

In Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani also contribute to the ensemble, while Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone makes a special appearance.

The film is helmed by Atlee, celebrated for his work in Tamil cinema. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Being an action thriller, the movie’s high-octane stunts are orchestrated by a team of six action directors hailing from across the globe. Among them are directors renowned for their contributions to landmark films such as Inception, Baahubali 2, The Fast and the Furious, Mad Max: Fury Road and more.

Jawan is SRK’s second release of the year. After this, he will be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki which is scheduled to release in December. 2023 marked the return of Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles after a long hiatus. The actor had not appeared in any starring roles since 2018’s Zero but had appeared in a few cameos.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan became the biggest hit of his career and the success of the film was considered even more special as it worked at a time when Hindi films were not doing well at the box office.
