Shah Rukh Khan did not drink water for 2 days during Dard-e-Disco, says Farah Khan: ‘He was cramping during shoot’

Farah Khan also spoke about Shah Rukh Khan's children Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan, calling them 'well-mannered'. She added that just like SRK, Aryan will come and drop you to your car.

Shah Rukh Khan has been in the movies for 30 years and in 2023, he witnessed the most successful year he has ever had at the movies. In a recent chat, director-choreographer Farah Khan shared that one of the main reasons that Shah Rukh is still loved by everyone is because he puts in a lot of hard work in everything that he does. Farah recalled that while doing ‘Chaleya’ for Jawan, SRK insisted that he rehearsed before coming on set.

“I just did a song for Jawan. After 32 years, he wanted to do rehearsal. I said ‘What is wrong with you? Are you crazy?’ He said ‘No, I am thinking that if I rehearse, I will be able to dance better’,” she recalled. Farah has directed Shah Rukh in films like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year and said that while shooting for OSO’s Dard-e-Disco, SRK did not have water for two days.

“I wanted a bare body shot of his in Main Hoon Na but he couldn’t work on his body as he had a back injury and had to get surgery. So during Om Shanti Om, he said I promised you that the first time I remove my shirt (on camera), I’ll do it for you. He didn’t have water for two days because it causes bloating. In Dard-e-Disco, he couldn’t even dance properly because he was cramping so much,” she shared.

Farah and Shah Rukh first worked together in Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge on the song ‘Ruk Jaa O Dil Deewane’ and have been friends for over 30 years at this point. Farah said that Shah Rukh’s kids have imbibed some of his best qualities and shared that Aryan has a trait that is very similar to SRK. “When you go to Mannat, Aryan will come and drop you to your car with Shah Rukh,” she said.

Speaking about both Suhana and Aryan, she said, “They are very well behaved. They’re not spoiled, not arrogant. They are humble.” She called AbRam “naughty” and added that “both Aryan and Suhana are well mannered.”
