Actor Sara Ali Khan was pleased to win the rapid fire round on the latest episode of Koffee with Karan. She beat her fellow guest Ananya Panday by a wide margin with his straightforward answers about the industry and her films. While Sara wasn’t satisfied with her stab at ‘shayari’ during the rapid fire round, a couple of her answers left even Ananya shocked.
“What is the one thing that most celebrities search on the internet about themselves,” Karan Johar asked her, and Sara replied, “I think in our world, people are a bit busy searching about other people.” Karan then asked her to name the ‘one thing that most actors and actresses lie about on social media.’ Sara put on a voice, and said, “I woke up like this, no makeup, no filter. It’s me, not edited, no blemishes on my leg.” She added sarcastically, “Wait for the pap videos where they are there though.” Ananya turned to the camera and gave a look of disbelief.
But throughout the episode, Sara was also self-reflective. She spoke about the ‘overcompensation’ that she dished out when her film Love Aaj Kal bombed, and her performance in it was poorly received. She said that partially to deal with this response, she started behaving gregariously in public. “Don’t self-deprecate just to deflect. Just be real,” she said in the rapid fire round, when asked what advice she’d like to give herself.
Sara debuted with the film Kedarnath in 2018, and then went on to star in the blockbuster Simmba. But the back-to-back flops Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No. 1 effective ended the goodwill that she’d fostered. She then starred in Atrangi Re, the horror dud Gaslight, and the hit comedy drama Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
