Hema Malini turned 77 on Thursday, and on her birthday, many of her co-stars and fans took to social media to wish her and share their admiration for the veteran star. Saira Banu also shared a birthday wish for Hema and penned a note recalling the time they bonded while shooting together.
Recalling her first meeting with Hema, Saira said, “I first met Hema in 1966, on the sets of Deewana at RK Studios, when she came along with her producer Anantswamy. I remember being instantly taken by her serene beauty and grace. Later, we met again while shooting at the picturesque Krishna Raj Sagar Dam, our rooms were next to each other, and every evening my mother, Hema, her mother, and I would sit in the verandah chatting, exchanging beauty secrets, and sharing laughter that echoed into the night.”
She also spoke about how Dilip Kumar and she introduced Hema to the press in Madras. She wrote, “I reminded her of how Amma used to put lobaan in her hair for that lovely fragrance, she laughed in surprise that I still remembered! We also spoke of how Dilip Sahib and I introduced her to the press in Madras; Hema remembered how kind Sahib had been that day, his words still etched in her heart.”
She ended her post with best wishes for Hema. “Not long ago, I saw her dance so gracefully with Dharam Ji on a television show, the affection and comfort between them warmed my heart. It reminded me once again of the beauty of lasting companionship. Dearest Hema, may your days continue to shine with the same light and love you have always brought into the lives of others. Wishing you boundless happiness, peace, and good health always,” she wrote.
Esha Deol also shared a note for her mother on her birthday. She shared adorable photos with Hema in which she is seen kissing Hema’s cheeks. She wrote, “Happy birthday to my Queen, my mamma & The Dream Girl of the nation …. We love you ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🧿🙌🏼🤗😘😍🙏🏼.”
Shatrughan Sinha also posted best wishes for Hema. He shared photos with her and wrote, “Warm & loving birthday wishes for a very dear family friend, gorgeous actress, exceptional danseuse, our @dreamgirlhema.”
