Actor Saif Ali Khan opened up about his children, and said that all of them are performers in their own way. While Saif’s only daughter, Sara Ali Khan, is already an established actor, his older son, Ibrahim, is gearing up to make his acting debut. He said that even his two youngest children, Taimur and Jeh, are showing signs of being interested in being performers. Sara and Ibrahim are Saif’s children from his first marriage, with Amrita Singh, while Taimur and Jeh are Saif’s kids with his second wife, Kareena Kapoor.

In an interview with India Today, Saif spoke about each of his children, and said that he makes it a point to spend time with all of them individually. He also stressed that there is ‘no pressure’ on any of them to follow in his footsteps, although two of them already have. Asked if they feel any pressure to carry the family name forward and to become big stars, Saif pointed out that they are two different things. “Carrying the family legacy forward, in terms of being a good person, or a successful person, or someone who has served the country well is different to being a movie star. There’s no pressure on them to be an actor, even though I think it’s a great job,” he said.

Saif continued, “Two of the elder kids are already actors, or want to be… Tim, at one point, said that he can’t bear the thought of getting up in front of people and saying lines, and I said that I completely understand. But now he tells me he’s looking forward to his school play. The youngest one is a born performer, you can see it, and I know where that comes from. So, there’s no pressure. It’s a great job. But, for me, they could be school teachers… As long as they’re happy.”

Saif said that the pressure to be a certain kind of way in life isn’t something that he wants to teach his children. Asked if his children come to him for advice, Saif said, “I’m not shooting a movie right now, and I spend most of my time with my children. And they do (come to me for advice). I’m fortunate that they’re interested in my opinion. My elder son asked me something recently about girls. I gave it quite some thought before answering… It was something about how seriously to take his relationship at a certain stage, and I told him it’s very important to take it very seriously…. The key, for me, is to spend time with the kids alone, even the two kids I live with.”

Sara made her acting debut with the 2018 film Kedarnath, while Ibrahim is said to be gearing up for his debut film, produced by Karan Johar and co-starring Kajol. He is also working in a movie with Khushi Kapoor
