Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla’s next film as a producer has a finalized title now. Marking the debut of Armaan Jain, cousin of Kareena Kapoor, the film is now called ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’. The title is special since it has its bearings from the namesake chartbuster from Nasir Hussain’s Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973).
“Written by Majrooh Sultanpuri, this chartbuster track by Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar was a huge hit when put to tune by R.D. Burman. The makers wanted a musical title for their Armaan Jain starrer and penciled in on Lekar Hum Deewana Dil,” informs our source.
This wasn’t a straight forward choice though as the film had remained untitled for over 6 months when it was officially announced. Though Saif had confirmed that he and his partner Dinesh Vijan were making the film with Armaan in the lead, the title was never disclosed. Then very recently it had come to light that the film was named as Dekho Magar Pyaar Se.
“That was discounted though as eventually everyone settled down for Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. It has a good ring to it and promised a fun filled musical entertainer,” the source adds.
That is something pretty much expected, considering the fact that the composer at the helm of affairs is none other than A.R. Rahman.
“Imtiaz Ali has earlier worked with Rahman for the music of Rockstar and now that his brother Arif Ali is debuting as a director with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, it is expected that the outcome would be memorable once again,” a close associate adds.
With a Nasir Hussain inspired title, the bare minimum requirement in any case is to have some memorable music in store. A glimpse of that is pretty much expected once the promo of the film, which has Eros coming together again with Illuminati Films, is unveiled later this week.
