Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who is also known for his love for sports, shared his emotions when his wife, actor Deepika Padukone, unveiled the FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar last year. He also revealed how he reacts when people at such sports events don’t recognize him and ask for an introduction.
In an interview with Etimes, Ranveer said that the FIFA World Cup in Qatar was ‘grand and glorious,’ adding that it was the world’s biggest spectacle. He said he was “happy to be there” with his wife and “so proud” to see her unveil the World Cup trophy.
Last year in November, Ranveer attended the Formula 1 race in Abu Dhabi. Former racing driver and journalist Martin Brundle briefly forgot who actor Ranveer was when he spotted him during his grid walk and asked Ranveer to introduce himself. However, Ranveer answered the very next moment and said, “I’m a Bollywood actor and I hail from Mumbai, India. I am an entertainer.”
Ranveer addressed the incident, noting that he was aware of the social media buzz it generated. He clarified that the journalist simply asked him a general question during their interaction. He said, he didn’t overthink or pick any layers to the question. “I was just being authentic and true to myself. When I go to these places, they sense that he must be somebody but may not be familiar with me.”
Ranveer said that his friends often tell him that he has a special knack for striking up conversations with anyone. He believes it’s important to leave a positive impression as an Indian actor, and he takes joy in seeing someone smile after talking with him.
On the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
