Ranveer Allahbadia’s seemingly successful career suffered a major setback after he was ‘cancelled’ earlier this year, following his appearance on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. Ranveer has now claimed that these events unfolded after he was told he was under the curse of an evil eye. During his chat with actor Amrita Rao on his YouTube channel, Ranveer claimed that famous dance choreographer, Shiamak Davar, met him last year, and could immediately tell that he was under the curse of an evil eye. Amrita shared a similar experience and said that she, too, was told the same thing by Shiamak.
Ranveer Allahbadia said that he now visits a temple every week and gets the curse of evil eye removed. “Main nazar utarvata hu (I get the evil eye curse removed) and it has made a big difference, I feel great. I feel great on a physical and mental level,” he said and added that there is a concept of “nazar accumulation” and said that one can feel it physically. “At this point, I am almost able to look at someone and say that there is too much nazar on this person,” he said.
Amrita Rao sensed that this conversation could seem bizarre to some viewers so she insisted, “For people who are looking at this nazar conversation and thinking ‘what is this nonsense?’ There is nazar. I have experienced it.” She shared that Shiamak Davar told her the same thing when he sensed that Amrita was under the curse of someone’s evil eye. She recalled another incident when her house help performed a ritual because she also sensed the curse of an evil eye.
“I once came back from a shoot and I was feeling so low, and there was a new maid in my house. She said I will remove the nazar. She took some phitkari and did something with it and there was a sound that came from it and she said, ‘Arre baap re, kitni gandi nazar lagi hai (Oh god, there was such bad evil eye)’ and within seconds, I was fine,” she recalled.
Amrita Rao has made only a few film appearances since 2013. She featured in Thackeray (2019) and more recently reprised her role from Jolly LLB in Jolly LLB 3.
