Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt grew up within the film industry but ever since they were kids, it was obvious to the people around them that they were quite talented. In a recent interview, veteran journalist Bhawana Somaaya shared some anecdotes from Ranbir and Alia’s growing up years and said that they are an extremely talented couple. Talking about Ranbir, Bhawana said that if he ever decides to direct a film, he would make his late grandfather proud, and about Alia, she said that her stardom was first predicted by her older sister Pooja Bhatt.
In a chat with Hindi Rush, Bhawana said that Ranbir was a “good looking child” and a “very naughty kid.” She said that whenever she went to meet Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir would hide in the corner and listen to their conversation. In fact, Ranbir was fascinated by one of her books where she wrote about Neetu and Rishi Kapoor’s romance. “Ranbir is a very sorted man. He is very calm and wise. He has been through a rough time and he is a great actor. I believe we have only seen a tip of the iceberg. He will blow your minds with his work. And if he ever decides to direct, which I believe he will, Raj Kapoor will be proud,” she said.
She also recalled some stories from Alia’s childhood and shared an anecdote from the time when the Bhatts were shooting in Seychelles, and she was with them. Bhawana recalled that Alia had to do a shot in one of the films where Pooja was playing the main role. “Alia would stand for a shot, give the shot and tell her father, ‘It’s perfect, pack up’. And it was perfect,” she recalled.

Bhawana recalled that at one point, Mahesh had asked Pooja and Alia to rest in a room until they set up the next shot, and Bhawana was with them. As soon as the shot was ready and an assistant came to call Pooja, Alia bounced up, looked at the mirror and walked off for the shot, and this left Pooja quite impressed. “Alia Bhatt’s stardom was predicted by Pooja Bhatt. She said that she will be such a big star and she is so talented. She said this is Seychelles when Alia was still a child,” she recalled.
