Actress Kalki Koechlin is all praise for her “Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewani” co-star Ranbir Kapoor‘s performance in “Bombay Velvet”.

The film is directed and co-produced by Kalki’s former husband Anurag Kashyap and also stars Anushka Sharma.
The movie, based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book “Mumbai Fables” is due to release on May 15 but Kalki has already watched it and the actress said she loved it.

“I have seen the film too. I loved it. It is a completely new way looking at Mumbai.
“It is the Mumbai of the 60s that’s shown in the film so recreation of the city, Ranbir’s performance is incredible, the songs, Anushka is playing a jazz singer in the movie… It was really moving. I enjoyed it,” Kalki told PTI.

Ranbir, 32, plays Johnny Balraj, a boxer and Anushka, 26, portrays Rosie, an inspiring jazz singer, in the movie.
Set in Bombay of the 1960s, the film tells the story of Johnny and Rosie, and how their hopes and dreams collide with their individual realities.
