Superstar Rajinikanth is set to make a grand comeback to the big screen after a two-year break with the much-anticipated action-packed film, Jailer. The excitement surrounding the movie has reached an all-time high. According to Economic Times, offices in Chennai and Bengaluru have announced leave for its employees on Jailer’s release day, August 10.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer has garnered an impressive Rs 8.2 crore in advance bookings across India, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. Twitter has been abuzz with countdowns for the film’s release, and one user shared an official notice from a company that granted a holiday to its employees to ‘avoid piling up leave requests to the HR department.’ The notice also mentioned providing free tickets to employees to support anti-piracy efforts.

In Jailer, Rajinikanth portrays the role of a retired police officer, marking his first collaboration with director Nelson Dilipkumar. During the film’s audio launch, Rajinikanth recounted how he came across the script and praised Nelson’s laid-back approach on set, referring to him as a ‘chilled-out guy.’ He said, “After Annaatthe, I listened to many scripts but I didn’t like any. And stopped the process altogether and thought let’s see about it later. Then I was told by Kannan of Sun Pictures, who is a friend of Nelson, that he (Nelson) has a story for me. By then, Nelson was shooting for Beast in North India. So, I waited till he returned. When he finally came back, I asked to set a time and asked if 10 am would be fine. Kannan said Nelson gets up pretty late as he sleeps late. I was like what’s this behaviour even before the start of the film. Then he finally set a time around 11:3o.”

The film boasts a captivating score by Anirudh Ravichander and features a stellar cast, including Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Mirnaa Menon. Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff will be seen in a negative role. Additionally, Jailer will have special appearances by legendary actors Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar.
