Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt opened up about his granddaughter, Raha Kapoor. While praising her ‘unique’ energy, he joked that she could easily replace her parents, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Mahesh also called her a ‘special crossbreed’, expressing his relief over his DNA having a major influence of his Muslim mother.
While talking to Navbharat Times about his youngest daughter Alia, he said Raha is a girl of her own kind, living life on her own terms. The filmmaker also said she is about to turn three and he feels she will replace Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. “She has that kind of energy. Every generation is faster and ahead of the previous one. When I see Raha, I feel she has a unique energy.”
Mahesh further added that Raha is special and a symbol of India’s diversity. “She’s a crossbreed, very special, and I feel that is the pride of India — the Ganga-Jamuni culture. I am proud that my DNA carries the major influence of my Muslim mother. This is an incredible country where so many cultures coexist together.”
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor rang in his 43rd birthday on September 28. The actor spent some time away with his family – wife Alia Bhatt, daughter Raha Kapoor, and mother Neetu Kapoor. The Jigra actor wished her husband on social media with the sweetest post. She shared a carousel of pictures from their short holiday on the special occasion, including a glimpse of an adorable hand-written card by their daughter Raha.

In the first photo, Alia and Ranbir held each other close while gazing at a beautiful sunset. In the handwritten letter, Raha wished her dad Ranbir and wrote, “Happy Birthday best papa in the world.” In the last picture, Raha and Ranbir’s hands can be seen, holding a slice of a chocolate toy birthday cake. Along with the post, she wrote in the caption, “happy birthday our whole and soul.”

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor also came live on the official Instagram page of his clothing brand Arks on Sunday evening. He interacted with fans and revealed the special gift he received from his daughter, for his birthday. “I spent the entire day with Alia and Raha and just did nothing. Raha made me promise that she will give me 43 kisses, so I got that and she made me a beautiful card. It really moved me. It was a perfect birthday,” he said.
He also spoke about his birthday trip and shared, “Had a wonderful birthday last night. The last two days have been great because I was with my mother, Alia and Raha. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday. It was work-cum-vacation. I’m shifting to my new house so we did house shopping and made a quick 2-day trip with the family, and it worked out perfectly as it was at the same time as my birthday.” The actor also celebrated his 43rd birthday with the media, as he stepped out to cut a cake with the paps.
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, also starring Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, and Lara Dutta, and many others. The film will hit the big screen in two parts, with the first part releasing on Diwali 2026. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir will also be seen sharing the screen space together with Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War.
