No ego, only auditions. Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas says she has no qualms of auditioning for a film if she has liked the script and never lets pride come in the way.
During a masterclass at the ongoing Jio MAMI film festival, Priyanka opened up about her career and said her process to choose a film changes according to context.
The actor said there have been times movies have come her way but also times when she had to “fight and audition for them,” an E Times report quoted. Without revealing the name of the film, Priyanka recalled how she had once liked a script and really wanted to be a part of the film. The actor said she got her agents to call the filmmakers and “offer myself to audition for the movie.”
Priyanka said she had to do three auditions for the film, starting with meeting with the filmmakers. “The second he came over to my house and did a reading and then the third time we went to the studio and I got the part.”
Priyanka Chopra was in conversation with actor Bhumi Pednekar at the festival. Priyanka said she is not afraid of pursuing her dreams and “my pride doesn’t stand in front of my dreams ever.” The actor said ego is “the end of everything”.
“Come from a place of no pride, come from a team, wanting to help others rise instead of wanting to pull others down. Because you are insecure about something and in that feeling, we pull others down,” she added.
