Actor Parineeti Chopra tied the knot with politician Raghav Chadha on Sunday. While the grand wedding in Udaipur was attended by close family and friends, fans were disappointed to see Priyanka Chopra missing from the celebrations. The Barfi actor had taken to social media to wish her cousin on her big day; she had earlier attended Parineeti’s engagement. On Monday morning, she posted a photo of her having a fun time in the pool with daughter Malti Marie.
While Priyanka was dressed in a green bikini, her little princess wore a colourful swimsuit with matching floater tube. She also wore a hat adding to their ‘chiilin’ vibe. The picture beautifully captures the mother-daughter time as Priyanka extends her hand to hold her baby after throwing her in the air slightly.
The actor was reported to have attended the wedding while husband Nick Jonas was set to give it a miss due to his concert. However, Priyanka’s absence left fans disappointed. Her mother Madhu Chopra later explained that the Citadel star is busy with work.
Madhu Chopra was spotted at the Udaipur airport on Monday morning as she returned home after the wedding. The paparazzis asked her about her daughter’s absence to which she said, “Kaam kar rahe hai (She is busy working).” She was also quizzed about Parineeti Chopra’s wedding look, to which she shared how she always looks beautiful. “Waise hi khoobsurat hai, aur bhi achi lag rahi thi (She is beautiful and she looked prettier at the wedding).”
Meanwhile, Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha had intimate wedding celebrations. The couple is reported to have known each other for years but started dating only a while back. The newlyweds looked resplendent in their ivory outfits during the pheras. Sharing photos from the same, they captioned the post, “From the very first chat at the breakfast table, our hearts knew. Been waiting for this day for a long time .. So blessed to finally be Mr and Mrs! Couldn’t have lived without each other .. Our forever begins now .. 💖” Sister Priyanka Chopra, was the first to comment on photos, as she wrote, “My blessings always.”
After exchanging vows, Parineeti and Raghav also had planned a reception for their friends and family. For the same, the Ishaqzaade actor wore a pink sequeined- saree while the groom was dressed in a tuxedo.
Apart from Priyanka Chopra, Karan Johar’s absence from Parineeti-Raghav’s wedding raised many eyebrows. The filmmaker was touted to be one of the guests at the event. However as per Zoom, due to a family emergeny, KJo’s plans got canned at the last moment. “Karan had every intention to attend the wedding as he is very fond of both Parineeti and Raghav .He was set to fly down to Udaipur on Sunday when a family emergency forced him to cancel the intended wedding festivities. Sad, because he had planned all his clothes for the functions so elaborately,” the publication quoted.
