To the relief of fans and well-wishers alike, both Govinda and Dharmendra have been discharged from their respective hospitals and are now on the road to recovery. Govinda, who was hospitalized after fainting and feeling disoriented, left the hospital on Wednesday afternoon. Outside the Mumbai hospital, the actor greeted photographers with a warm smile and a wave, assuring everyone of his well-being. He also spoke briefly about Dharmendra, whom he had visited in the hospital on Monday evening.
Speaking about his own health, Govinda added, “I’m fine now. I had been overworking and was fatigued. Yoga and Pranayama are good, but to build personality, I was doing heavy exercise, which became too much. Now I realize that Yoga and Pranayama are better. The doctors have given me medication, and I will follow up with treatment.”
Govinda had been rushed to CritiCare Asia Multispeciality Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, after feeling disoriented. His friend, Bindal Lalit, accompanied him to the hospital following a worried call from the actor, revealing that Govinda had been feeling weak since Tuesday afternoon. Earlier, his manager Sashi Shinde had told SCREEN, “He felt a little dizzy and then his head got heavy, so we admitted him to get checked by a neurologist. He is feeling better and resting now. There’s nothing to worry about; we just wanted to ensure why he felt dizzy. Since it was neurological, the doctor advised admission. His daughter Tina is with him, while others were out.”
This marks the second time in a year that Govinda has been hospitalized. Around the same time last year, he was admitted after accidentally firing a revolver while handling it, and was discharged three days later. Meanwhile, Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital this morning. The veteran actor, 89, had been admitted on October 31 after complaining of breathlessness and has had multiple hospital visits in recent weeks. Dr. Pratit Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital told the media, “Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7:30 am. He will continue treatment at home as the family has decided to manage his care there.”
The Deol family issued an official statement confirming that the veteran icon will recover at home and requested everyone to refrain from speculation about his health.
