Pooja Bhatt emerged as one of the strongest contestants of Bigg Boss OTT 2. Without any social media support, the 90s star took on young contestants head-on with her maturity and composed personality. While she decided to participate in the Salman Khan-hosted show as a challenge, she revealed how people had warned her not to do it.

In a chat with indianexpress.com, Pooja Bhatt shared that when the offer came her way, she asked herself what was there to lose. “I realised everything. And that was a good reason for me to do the show as I want to attempt things that either make me sink or soar. But yes, a lot of people warned me to not do the show and that made me more determined about doing it.”

Pooja said that she has been a fan of Bigg Boss and followed the earlier seasons. Her brother Rahul Bhatt was also a contestant and she cast Sunny Leone for Jism 2 through the show. “Even before entering the house, I got so much from it. Frankly, I was in two minds but my father pushed me to do it. Also, my friend, actor Deepak Tijori was really persistent and said I should experience it; now I know why. I went with an open mind and heart and I have come out with my head held high and my heart flowing with love,” she said.

While the Bombay Begums actor was quite a strong contestant, many in the audience felt that she wasn’t pushing herself to win. When asked about the same, the actor smiled to say, “See, the generation today comes with blind ambition and wants to win at any cost. The idea of victory is very different for me. It’s not the trophy but the journey that is most important to me. I didn’t consider that house as a set but took care of it like my own home. I also got to spend so much time with myself, and also get a detox from my phone and social media. I stepped out of my comfort zone and it’s humbling to be vulnerable. I didn’t lose myself, at least not in my eyes and that’s what’s a real win for me.”

The actor also addressed claims that Bigg Boss and host Salman Khan were a little biased toward her. “Bulls**t. I think they were biased toward the other contestants but never me.”

On a final note, Pooja Bhatt said that she was overwhelmed to see her father being so proud of her journey. She added that Soni Razdan’s video clip for her in the finale really moved her. “Salman also mentioned how the season would be remembered for me. However, I was most touched when Bigg Boss mentioned how the entire team is proud of my journey,” she added.
