Shahid Kapoor’s romantic-comedy ‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’ has failed to impress and managed to collect a mere Rs 13 crore at the box office in its opening weekend.
The film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi collected Rs. 6 crore on the day of its release and a mere Rs 7 crore on Saturday, making it a total of Rs. 13 crore.
‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’,which opened to about 2000 screens across the country, had a slow start on Friday.
#PPNH Fri ₹ 6 cr,Sat ₹ 7 cr. Total: ₹ 13 cr nett…,” tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The movie was also panned by critics and Indian Express’ critic Shubhra Gupta described the characters of the film, also featuring ‘Barfi!’ actress Ileana D’Cruz,as ‘caricatures in the dullest, stodgiest way possible and rated it half a star.
However, the film’s opening is said to have been much better than Shahid Kapoor’s last two films,’Teri Meri Kahaani’ and ‘Mausam.’
