Shahid Kapoor, who has been actively promoting his upcoming film Deva, recently took a dig at some superstars who walk in with a lot of attitude and make others feel like their presence must be acknowledged. Netizens somehow felt that this dig was directed at Salman Khan but Shahid has now clarified that he “did not even think” about it and would never say anything this disrespectful about Salman.
While talking to Hindustan Times, he was asked if his comments were directed towards Salman and Shahid immediately gestured ‘no’. Shahid shared that other people had also texted him wondering the same thing and said, “A few people texted me asking about the same thing. I was just talking, I didn’t even think much about it. If I want to take a dig, it will never be at somebody who is so senior and so established, and who I have so much respect for. So just to clear that out once and for all,” he said.
In an earlier chat with Raj Shamani on his YouTube channel, Shahid said that there are some superstars who walk into a room and try to make an impression, as if they are trying to insist that a superstar has arrived. “Aate hain kuchh log aise, ki main aa gaya hun types. Woh dikh jaata hai bro, 30 seconds mein pata chal jaata hai. (Some people walk in like ‘I’m here’. So you can see that in just 30 seconds.) When they enter a room, they want to make you feel like they have entered the room. It’s okay, it’s a room full of people, you have also entered, chill bro. Toh woh toh hai (So that’s there), there are lots of people who have this,” he said.
Shahid’s upcoming film Deva has him playing the role of a police officer. The actor was last seen with Kriti Sanon in the romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. He will next be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film.
