The Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale has finally been given a release date by the streaming platform, two years after being announced. The documentary will premiere on Netflix on the ‘Lady Superstar’s birthday, November 18. Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale will now cover her entire career, as opposed to just her marriage with Vignesh Shivan, as was previously announced. It will also show the actor’s journey of becoming a mother through surrogacy.
The run-time of the documentary is an hour and 21 minutes. The poster features Nayanthara looking towards the camera, surrounded by paparazzi at a red carpet. The film will feature untold stories about Nayanthara as a daughter, sister, partner, mother, friend, and an actor.

Two years ago, the teaser of Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale was released by Netflix. In the teaser, Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan spoke about their wedding preparations, which saw the who’s who of the film industry in attendance. The scope of the film has since expanded.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara was last seen in the Tamil film Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food in 2023. The film attracted controversy for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. It was even temporarily removed from Netflix, but was added back after the objectionable scenes were edited out. Nayanthara has also wrapped up shooting for two Tamil films, Test and Mannangatti Since 1960. She is currently shooting for Thani Oruvan 2, and a Malayalam film titled Dear Students, with Nivin Pauly.
