Nawazuddin Siddiqui answers if big stars have stolen his lines, reduced his screen time: ‘On Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman Khan…’

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who was recently seen in the film Afwaah, has revealed that despite sharing the screen with Bollywood biggies such as Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, his screen time was never threatened. He opened up about his experiences on big films, and shared in an interview that his lines and scenes were never cut or reduced.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, when Nawazuddin was asked if his lines in a movie were ever edited or reduced because of the presence of a more prominent star, the actor said, “Maine badi commercial films ke hain, jisme main villain tha. But usme aisa kabhi hua nahi. Jitna maine shoot kiya, utna hi aaya. Kyunki unko bhi zarurat thi (I have done big commercial films in which I have portrayed villains, and in those films, the parts I shot for were all there).”

He added, “Maine bhai (Salman Khan), Shah Rukh aur Tiger Shroff ke saath kaam kiya. Isme jitna mera tha utna he mera raha. Ek scene idhar udhar nahi hua.” (I have worked with Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Tiger Shroff, among others. My scenes were never reduced or cut).” The actor opened up about working with Salman Khan, and said, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan main toh aise hua ke bohot baar Salman bhai ne apni line mujhe de di. On the spot hua. Mere saath kabhi aisa nahi hua, mujhe aur mila hai (A lot of times while shooting Bajrani Bhaijaan, Salman Khan gave many of his lines to me and it happened on the spot).”

Earlier, Nawazuddin had spoken about the difference between Salman and Shah Rukh. In an appearance on an AIB podcast, he had said, “Shah Rukh bhai ka hai, ek scene ko jab tak uska… kyunki theatre kiya hai unhone… Mujhe laga ek actor ke saath kaam kar raha hu (With Shah Rukh, with every scene… because he’s done theatre himself… I felt like I was working with a real actor). Bhai ka yeh hai ki ek scene hogaya, ek baar hogaya, ab dobara nahi karenge Bhai (With Salman, a scene is shot only once. No second takes).” Nawazuddin will next be seen in the film Jogira Sara Ra Ra opposite Neha Sharma.
