Earlier today, reports claimed singer Monali Thakur, renowned for hits like “Sawaar Loon” and “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage”, was rushed to a hospital after experiencing severe breathing difficulties during a live performance at the Dinhata Festival in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Now, Monali has denied reports about her hospitalisation and said she was “feeling unwell recently due to not getting enough time to recover from a viral infection.”

Monali took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Dear media and everyone concerned for my health, I hope you’re doing well. I’m writing this to request that no unverified news about my health be shared. I truly appreciate all the love and concern, but I want to make it clear that I am not dealing with any breathing issues and I was not admitted to any hospital. That’s false information.”

“I was feeling unwell recently due to not getting enough time to recover from a viral infection/flu causing it to relapse and cause a slightly severe sinus and migraine discomfort and pain in flights. That’s all there is to it. I’m now back in Mumbai, getting treatment, resting, and recovering. I’ll be absolutely fine in no time,” the singer added.

Meanwhile, in December last year, Monali Thakur made headlines after she walked off the stage during a performance in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh due to poor management by the event organizers and inadequate infrastructure. A video of the incident went viral showing Monali halting her performance and addressing the audience: “I am disheartened that my team and I were so excited to perform here. Let’s not talk about the infrastructure and its condition, as that is the management’s responsibility. Time and again, I’ve said that I could injure my ankle here. My dancers have been telling me to calm down, but everything was a mess.”

The event organizers later accused Monali and her team of harassment, leading to a public exchange of allegations. In response, Monali took to Instagram to address the claims, calling out the organizers for their mismanagement and mistreatment of her crew. A part of her post read, “Disrespecting and harassing those working behind the scenes—be it backstage crew, artist managers, or coordinators—is never the right approach.”
