Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor were among the most talked about couple in the B-town. While the couple rarely discussed their relationship in the public, they often made headlines for sharing loved-up posts featuring each other from their vacations and other events. However, their long relationship came to an end this year when Arjun Kapoor publicly admitted that he was single during a promotional event of Rohit Shetty’s film Singham Again.
After months, Malaika Arora has finally spoken out about her relationship status. Admitting her relationship is over with Arjun Kapoor, Malaika told Times Of India, “I am very private person, and there are certain aspects of my life which I don’t want to elaborate o much.”
Reacting to Arjun Kapoor’s decision to publicly announce his break up, the actress said whatever her ex-boyfriend has said is entirely his prerogative, sharing she would never choose a public platform to talk about her personal life. The actress, who also lost her stepfather this year, shared the year has been very trying for her and now she looks forward to move on from everything that transpired in 2024. “I am ready for the New Year and a new start in my life”, said Malaika Arora.
Around Diwali, Arjun Kapoor was attending a public event for promoting his film when he said, “I am single”, confirming the rumours of his break up with longtime girlfriend Malaika Arora.
The couple started dating in 2018, a year after Malaika’s divorce with Arbaaz Khan. They broke up just before Malaika lost her stepfather. Despite the break up, Arjun made sure to be present at the actress’ tough time.
Speaking about being there for his ex-girlfriend at her time of grief, Arjun Kapoor told Raj Shamani in his podcast, “When what happened with dad and Khushi-Janhvi, there was an impulse. And in this case also, there was an instinct and impulse. If I’ve formed an emotional bond with somebody, I would always like to believe that I will be there regardless of the good and the bad. If I’m invited for the good, I will be there. And if I’m needed for the bad, I will be there. I’m not somebody who has a lot of friends, I’m not doing this for all and sundry. If that person doesn’t want me there, I’ll maintain a distance, as I have in the past.”
